With an investment of more than 20 million Euros, Tucher Brewery is building a new production facility and administration building in the metropolitan region of Nuremberg/Fürth. On a 94000 sqm area, Tucher (part of the Radeberger Group) will apply the latest technology "made in Germany". On 14 August, Tuchenhagen Brewery Systems was awarded the general contract for the construction of the new brewery plant. The brewhouse and the malt handling equipment will be supplied by Huppmann AG.
As companies of the GEA Group, these two suppliers provide a perfectly matched brewing technology, down to the individual component, according to the Tucher press release. "We did not only select a highly competent partner. By working with a general contractor, we can avoid the considerable coordination efforts between all the firms involved in the project," explains Wieland Hoppen, Managing Director Technology/Logistics of Tucher Brewery. The laying of the foundation stone will take place in September. The relocation is expected to be completed in early 2009.
One of the most modern breweries in Europe
Under the management of Managing Director Technology/Logistics Wieland Hoppen, Tucher will lay the foundation for "one of the most modern breweries in Europe. We decided to purchase the most advanced and highest quality equipment available," says Wieland Hoppen.
ECO-MATRIX from Tuchenhagen Brewery Systems will be installed in the cellar. Compared to conventional complete piping, this novel system reduces the amount of piping and the number of valves required. Less piping means less product loss, less water and cleaning agents. In addition, more defined fermentation conditions provide for improved yeast quality and thus improved flavour and foam stability of the beers. The new brewhouse features all the characteristic elements of the Huppmann technology: Millstar, Lauterstar, external wort preheating and Jetstar boiling with energy storage system.
The scope of delivery also includes the integration of the filtration equipment, a carbonation system and a water deaeration system. The complete brewery will be automated with brewmaxx.
